Yes, I have tried it — twice. It works as expected.

Im interested to know if anyone has actually tried this, I also have been through the exact same things… So I am about to format my system and this will soon be the 6th time I’ve installed it…. we shall see (i backed up EVERY REGISTRY SETTING lol) — lets hope this works!

That’s good to know, especially because, apparently, Roku counts as device as well.
How they set Roku up with registries beats me.

Wow! I actually found your blog entry after doing the same thing. After doing it, I did a search to see if anyone else had done it– just so that I could inform the way you did.

I have to admit, I’m the same way. I format my systems as the wind blows. I’m very rough on my machines and I think it pays off in technical expertise.

And I’m always thinking XP, Vista, XP, Vista. Blah.

Thanks for putting it out there for the world, however.
