I recommend you run memtest86+ for a while (a few hours) on the system and see if it reboots when that's being used. If not, then the problem is with your operating system (if using a 32-bit OS, possibly PAE incompatibilities; otherwise consider using a 64-bit OS to avoid PAE entirely). Start by trying that.

Next, note that the P5N-E (at least the SLI model) has had numerous BIOS updates which supposedly fix memory incompatibilities. Make sure you're using the latest BIOS.

Finally, could be a memory voltage problem, or just a general incompatibility between that particular version of Corsair 4GB memory module and the P5N-E. I would recommend talking to Corsair on their forums, they may have ideas.

Assuming you get no where with Corsair, purchase memory from Crucial (www.crucial.com) and see if you get reboots.

Thanks for your post. Since I build my home system with Corsair 4096MB DDR2 PC6400 Matched Pair TwinX C5 and Asus P5N-E motherboard I have these strange problems. My system never froze as far I remember but it suddenly reboots.

Any suggestion what to replace? Any compatible motherboard for this 8GB set of RAM.

Thanks, Ivan
